kamakura cherip に登場する風景は、そこに行けば必ず見られるものではありません。
人の暮らしのすぐそばで、カヤネズミのように小さな生きものが静かに息づいています。
その存在を知るだけで、次に鎌倉を歩くとき、草むらや谷戸の空気が少し違って感じられるかもしれません。
“cherip”は、そんな歩きかたの提案。
ここで共有したいのは、「場所」や「モノ」ではなく「まなざし」。
cheripの小さな世界をとおして、今日の景色に、驚きと発見がありますように。
山本麻理子（やまもと・まりこ）
1965年生まれ、鎌倉市出身、在住。
幼稚園教諭、WEBデザイン、コンテンツ制作を経て、現在は鎌倉を拠点に活動。
幼児教育に携わる中で育まれた、子どもと同じ目線に立つまなざしで、暮らしのそばに息づく自然との出会いを描く。
2024年、鎌倉の谷戸で絶滅危惧種カヤネズミの巣と出会う。
鎌倉の自然と人の営みをテーマにした『kamakura cherip ―メグル カマクラ―』を展開。
イラストを中心にプロダクト制作と発信を行っている。

Right beside people’s everyday lives,
tiny creatures—like the harvest mouse—
live quietly among the grasses.
Just knowing they are there
may change the way you walk through Kamakura.

MARIKO YAMAMOTO
After working as a kindergarten teacher, in web design, and in content production, she is now based in Kamakura, Japan.
Her work is shaped by a way of seeing learned from children — meeting the world at the same eye level. She draws the small, living presences found close to everyday life.
In 2024, discovering the nest of an endangered harvest mouse in a local valley led her to begin kamakura cherip — Meguru Kamakura, an ongoing project exploring the relationship between people and nature in Kamakura.Through illustrations and small handcrafted items, she shares these quiet encounters.
